The Scottish Rights of Way signs show the original, and ancient, route. In fact it would have been shorter and faster to go to Old Bridge of Tilt and follow the estate road from there.

The last two miles were taken very slowly, by torchlight, on a rough track along the steep side of the top of the glen... By the time I reached the watershed the air was turning frosty, but the moon was bright enough that I could put the tent up by it.
